I am interested in the relation of belief and knowledge to action. Learning the circumstances under which attitudes (your own or those of significant others) will predict behavior and learning which attitudes are relevant to behavior is a continuing preoccupation that has expressed itself in diverse research. Two recent examples are a study of alcohol expectancies and beliefs about fetal vulnerability as influences on drinking in pregnant women and a study of the effects of moral reasoning and personal efficacy training on children's ethical conduct.
